We opened our shop on October 15th, 2022. NOLA began in April of 2022 as a coffee cart, as well as selling bottled cold brew concentrate. Our focus was on cold brew before opening the shop where we expanded to a full espresso bar and pastry menu.
We Keep Growing Our Business
- We have 4 part-time employees.
- Our drive-thru addition has allowed for many new customers, as well as ease for returning customers. It was a game changer for us.
Expect the Unexpected
The biggest surprise in our business was the dip in sales in the summer months our first year open. We expected summer to be one of our busiest seasons, but now we know how to better prepare!
Having no prior business experience, I started with seeking out SCORE Greater Aiken. I was put in touch with Chip Retson where we began weekly meetings to write my business plan and begin to shape the business. If it had not been for Chip’s advice and encouragement, we never could have opened. He never once made me feel less capable for not having experience—that was a common issue with others I had begun to ask advice from. Even after opening, Chip has always been an encouragement and frequently checks in with us. SCORE Aiken is a pillar in our business and we are forever grateful for this resource.
